History

Maney Communications has always been about delivering cost-effective marketing communications solutions with exceptional customer service.

keyboardSean Maney started Maney Communications in 1997. Having worked in PR and advertising agencies, Sean set out to deliver similar services but without the steep overhead charges and the flashy (read costly) presentations. Over the next five years, he was fortunate to work with a range of companies from start-up dot coms to large, publicly-held organizations. He initially provided copywriting and editing services and eventually broadened his service offering to include graphic and web design.

In late 2002, Sean was offered a full-time position at a non-profit organization whose mission was dear to his heart: helping elders. Sean was the director of marketing and public relations for this 150-person organization. By bringing graphic design and web production in house, Sean was able to dramatically increase awareness of the organization’s mission while reducing marketing expenses by half. For eight years, Sean refined his project management and supervisory skills and delivered cost-effective corporate collateral, standards-based web sites, and widespread publicity. He even produced a cable television show for elders whose only way to stay in touch with their community was by watching public access television! And yet, Maney Communications continued throughout this time. Committed to his clients, Sean consulted for several long-term clients in addition to his day job.

In 2010, Sean decided to concentrate on finishing a novel he had started several years prior. He left his full-time position to work on this long-held dream. He wrote intently while increasing the amount of work he did for his existing clients. He also successfully pursued another longtime interest by becoming an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-B).

PenToday, Sean’s novel is in its third draft and he hopes to eventually publish it. Meanwhile, he is again building Maney Communications and helping clients achieve marketing success with their communications. Sean holds onto his original belief that a small, marketing shop can deliver powerful results for a fair price. Maney Communications proves it can be done.
