Layout & Design
You take pride in your business. You work hard at your craft. Your professional image, whether on the printed page or the Internet, should mirror your professional excellence.
Effective professional communication starts with compelling copy and quickly leads to well-balanced graphic design and layout. No matter if it’s printed or on the web, a professionally designed piece exudes excellence for the company it represents. Colors complement one another, items are aligned, fonts are easily read, white space is present—all are components of good layout.
Sean Maney learned the fundamentals of design by completing an informal apprenticeship with a trained graphic designer (who had over 20 years of experience). He learned about line screens, leading, orphans, spot colors, resolution, and why most book texts use a serif font versus a sans serif font. He learned both the fundamentals and the details of taking a concept and making it into an attractive design.
Today, Maney Communications offers design and layout services for people like you—people who want to make a great impression with their business collateral. We lay out books, design brochures, and create web pages that make people remember you. Maney Communications can design or lay out the following for you:
- Advertisements (display)

A note about "design" and technology
Technology has been both a blessing and a curse for design. It has enabled great flexibility in the creative process, but it has also been the cause of widespread, amateur attempts at design. Inexpensive software and a seemingly endless supply of clip art has made it possible for almost anyone to quickly throw together words and images, clap their hands, and produce an awful design. When it comes to desktop publishing, we’d do well to remember the cliché “just because you can, doesn’t mean you should.”
Don’t let Microsoft Publisher and a color printer “design” your image!
